Matevž Rašković, Ph.D.

Matevž Rašković is an assistant professor of international business and a board member of Confucius Institute Ljubljana. He is also a visiting scholar at Shanghai University of International Business and Economics in China, and was in 2010-2011 also a visiting graduate fellow at Harvard University, FAS Sociology. His PhD focused on buyer-supplier relationships in multinational companies as a source of competitive advantage, in which he applied an economic sociology perspective to Bartlett and Ghoshal’s (1989) transnational typology. He was awarded the 2013 University of Ljubljana President's Award to young faculty for outstanding research and teaching achievements. For his research work, he received together with his co-authors the 2014 Emerald Highly Commended Paper award for their article “Antecedents and evolution of the Bartlett and Ghoshal transnational typology” in the Multinational Business Review and an “Outstanding reviewer” acknowledgement at the 2014 Academy of International Business CEE chapter conference in Budapest. His main areas of research include multinational companies, buyer-supplier relationships, and economic sociology of MNEs (particularly embeddedness of MNEs.
