FRIEDMANN Viktor, Ph.D.

Viktor Friedmann specialises in the history of ideas and practices of governing the international realm, with particular emphasis on great power management , Sino-Western relations, and global governmentality. He has recently defended his doctoral dissertation, which investigated the complex genealogy of the relationship between the ideas of great powerhood and responsibility through the history of China's image in Western conceptions of governing the world. Viktor worked as a research assistant in the EU FP7 project „CORE” (The Role of Governance in the Resolution of Socioeconomic and Political Conflict in India and Europe) and led seminars at Mathias Corvinus Collegium. Viktor holds a PhD in political science from Central European University and an MA in international relations from Corvinus University, Budapest.
